NAME: Yoshikuni Kagoko
APPEARANCE: Appears to be about 17 or 18
GENDER: Female
RANK AND DIVISION: Fifth seat, Yonbantai
APPEARANCE: Kagoko stands at 158 cm and weighs about 52 kg. Large, round emerald eyes are complimented with short, orange-red hair and bangs cover her forehead. She has short hair antenna that sits on top of her head and she wears a black and silver beaded headband.
She wears the standard shihakusho with her kosode off of her shoulders slightly. Kagoko also wears small, double cherry earrings.
PERSONALITY: Kagoko is a very polite and articulate girl, using the “-san” honorific with everyone, unless specifically told otherwise. She is also very bubbly, cheerful, and optimistic, though not annoyingly so. She also likes to speak her sound effects, the two most common being, “henya” when she’s being cute and “heke” when she’s confused and tilting her head. Despite this, she has a serious side that shows when she is in the line of duty.
Kagoko enjoys conversations with others and is always friendly, even through the crap that yonbantai goes through.
ZANPAKUTOU: Enjeru ( Angel ); Kagoko’s zanpakutou is a regular katana that she keeps on her right hip. It’s wrapping is silver, the guard is in the shape of a zephyr wing, and it’s sheath is onyx.
SHIKAI: Enjeru has two different shikai forms.
>> Healing: “Forgive all sin, Enjeru!”
Enjeru takes the form of silver, fingerless gauntlets that covers her forearms and wrap around her middle and ring finger. Two transparent wings appear; one on the far left and one on the far right. This form adds a boost to Kagoko’s healing, allowing her to mend wounds more effectively.
>> Fighting ( only if needed; rarely used ): “Walk the path of redemption, Enjeru!”
With this release, Enjeru transforms into a sabre with a silver handle that curves back up to the guard, it also gets one transparent angel wing where the handle curves. Similar to Yamada Hanatarou’s zanpakutou, Hisagomaru ( in a way ), Enjeru collects wound severity and stores it from it’s gauntlet form. When it is in sabre form, and depending on the amount of wounds she was able to heal, she can discharge up to three halo-like discs that vary in strength and intensity with a swing of the sabre.
BANKAI: Not yet achieved!
HISTORY: Yoshikuni Kagoko was born to a family of lesser nobility. Her family was mainly involved in small politics in Rukongai, but their name was known. Kagoko had always admired the objective of the Gotei Juusantai and wanted to enroll in the academy early. Her family, however, wanted her to be married off to another family for, of course, political purposes. She strongly opposed this and walked out on her meeting, leaving the Yoshikuni Manor and enrolling herself into the academy.
While in the academy, she studied as much as she could while researching which squad she felt she’d be best for. After learning about each squad, she decided that Yonbantai would be the squad of her choice due to her desire to aid those in need and she looks up to Unohana Retsu as a mother figure.
After she was accepted and offered the position of fifth seat of Yonbantai, Kagoko has strengthened her healing kidou and continues to do so, even in the present.
OTHER: Yamada Hanatarou is one of Kagoko’s closest friends and she calls him “Hana-kun.”
