NAME: Higashiyama Shihei
AGE: Appears to be in his mid to late teens.
GENDER: Male
RANK AND DIVISION: 4th Seat, 13th Division.
APPEARANCE: Shihei is 5'11'' tall, slightly muscular build with lightly tanned skin. His hair is medium length, messy and jet black. His eyes are a bright and lively cerulean. They contrast greatly with his black hair, making them one of his most notable features. He wears the normal shinigami attire with his zanpakuto attached to his right side (because he is left handed). His face is typically always wearing a bright and cheerful expression and is rarely dull, depressing or angry (He claims frowning his painful).
PERSONALITY: Shihei is an easy going and friendly guy. You could tease him, playfully punch at him, go out for drinks with him; he is the type of guy that everyone wants to be friends with. He goes out of his way to help cheer people up and typically always has a positive outlook. He even has a shy side to him when he is around women. He adores 13th Division and is extremely loyal to Ukitake. Because he has only ever served in 13th and he looks up to Ukitake, he takes after his taichou in many things. Shihei has high morals and beliefs. He is very honorable in battle, just like his taichou he won’t fight in the presence of a child and has a high measure of mercy; never killing an enemy just because he can. He never underestimates his opponent, knowing that is a mistake that many continue to make despite how obviously wrong it is. He also always puts others before himself. Shihei, without second thought, would put himself in grave danger if it meant saving the life of a comrade. He one day hopes to become fukutaichou so he can better serve his division.
Zanpakuto: Kurotadori (Blackbird) - Kurotadori is a zanpakuto unlike any other. It is completely back, black blade, black tsuba, black tsuka. The blade is fluorescent, so several different colors can be seen reflecting off of it in bright light creating quite a unique look. The tsuba has two elaborately detailed falcon's cut out of the metal work, leaving just enough material for it to be considered a tsuba. The tsuka is wrapped in black cotton with matching same (rayskin).
Shikai: Soar, Kurotadori. Once released, Kurotadori's blade shatters into thousands of tiny, black shards of its former self. These shards spin around in an upward vortex, once reaching a given altitude, each shard forms into a falcon. The falcons are controlled by what was once the tsuka, now in the form of a small wooden pipe whistle. This pipe whistle is surprisingly loud given its size, but it is a necessity because of the distance sometimes put between Shihe and the flock. While the flock is dangerous regardless of the situation, they're even more frightening at night, when the only sign of them is the quiet and constant roar of their wing beats in the sky. Another looming threat is if Shihei is rendered unable to control the flock, they will fall into chaos and go out of control.
As for what the flock can do. Each falcon has razor sharp beak which it will use to attack a given enemy. If Shihei chooses, they birds can also just drive their bodies into said enemy, hitting him with countless small, but blunt attacks.

HISTORY: Shihei comes from a rather unknown but wealthy family who resides in Seireitei. A family which has been slowly self destructing over the past hundred and fifty years because of the murder of their patriarc and his wife, who happened to be Shihei's parents. Shihei took their death and turned it into a tool to drive him to become stronger, better. It had only strengthened his morals and wish to help others, cementing his outlook on everything from that point on. He joined the Shinou Academy, deciding then and there to dedicate his life to the Gotei 13. Shihei wasn't anything exceptional, but he was at least better than average; and had only excelled exeptionally in zanjutsu and kido. After graduating, he had a hard time finding a division he liked. He had checked out one through six before meeting Ukitake Taichou, who had kindly invited him to thirteenth and showed him around. It didn't take long for him to realize that was where he belonged; so he joined, and has been there even since.
OTHER: Shihei has a few hobbies, such as origami, painting, and putting up random decorations throughout 13th Division.
He is known to carry extremely random objects, and is often seen trying to give them to some poor soul who has no need for such things.
It is very rare to see Shihei in a bad mood, but if it does happen, steer clear.
His favorite food is amaretto, thus it is has been noted and seen that he has tried to take some from Hitsugaya with little success.
