Uryuu's black hair is longer in the front than the back, bangs that reach just past his chin framing his face on each side. His blue eyes are covered by glasses with rectangular lenses, and most often, he is found wearing either his school uniform or his Quincy uniform - a long white shirt with blue trim around the collar and extending into a cross in the front over white pants, with a short cape around his shoulders and a blue belt.
PERSONALITY: Uryuu rarely speaks to people he doesn't know, and usually comes off as cold or just strange to them. To those he does know, however, he's known to be intelligent, sometimes irritable, and often, a complete dork. In battle, he's quick to analyze a situation, find his enemy's weaknesses, and exploit them, even if he doesn't let on immediately that he's found them. He prefers, rather than killing his enemies, to shoot through the source of their reiryoku, making them lose all of their spiritual power. Also notable is his talent for sewing.
WEAPONS AND ABILITIES:
Ginrei Kojaku: Ginrei Kojaku is a bow formed by combining his own reiryoku with the reishi around him. Its arrows are made in the same way. It is much stronger than his previous Kojaku, able to fire up to 1,200 arrows at once.
Seeleschneider: A weapon with a blade made of reishi, circled by reishi 3 million times per second, making it similar to a chainsaw. Though it can be used like a sword, it's actually a bow, with the blade used as a long arrow. It can also gather reishi dispersed by enemies in its pommel, allowing the blade to be temporarily restored.
Heisen: Using small silver vials containing stored reishi, Uryuu can release power from them by throwing them and using an incantation, similar to kidou. Heisen makes a box-shaped attack fly at Uryuu's enemy, with enough impact to pierce through the enemy's body.
Volkor: Using the silver vials, Uryuu creates a small explosion.
Gritz: With a silver vial, Uryuu encases his enemy in a silver prison bearing the Quincy Zeichen.
Sprenger: By placing five seeleschneider blades around his enemy in the shape of the Quincy Zeichen and pouring reishi on one from one of his silver vials, Uryuu creates a devastating explosion within the range of the Quincy Zeichen.
Ransou Tengai: Uryuu uses countless thread-shaped strands of reishi to force his body to move, even when otherwise immobilized.
Hirenkyaku: A method of fast movement, similar to the shunpo used by shinigami.
HISTORY: As a child, despite his father's insistance that he not do it, Uryuu often visited his grandfather, who taught him about the Quincy and how to use his abilities as one. Uryuu admired him and looked up to him, but while he was still a child, his grandfather was killed by hollows - the assistance of shinigami came too late, and as a result, Uryuu blamed the shinigami for his death, as well as himself for not helping him.
Uryuu lost his Quincy powers while in Soul Society, but regained them through training with his father, a Quincy despite his apparent dislike for them.
