NAME: Ulquiorra Schiffer

RACE: Arrancar.
RANK: Vasto lorde – Once the cuatro espada
APPEARANCE:
Ulquiorra is slim yet muscular of build, standing around 5'6½" he is neither particularly tall nor short. His complexion is extremely pale with his skin looking white. His eyes are green and two green tear streak lines adorn his face from his eyes to his cheeks.
His hair it neck length, jet black and a little messy. One side of his head is concealed beneath his mask which takes the form of half a helmet with a single pointed protrusion. He dresses in typical arrancar clothes of white. A long sleeved jacket covers his upper body which comes to his waist at the front but has long tails at the back. His trousers are baggy and pulled in just above the ankle. On his feet he wears black footwear with white borders..
PERSONALITY:
He is cold, calculating, callous with sharp eyes, poised to snatch up any clues and observations there to be made. He is known to be merciless and unrelenting in battle but will generally only fight all out with opponents that have proven themselves worthy or caught his attention in some way. He is not one to cause fights unless provoked or ordered too but he is by no means apathetic. He is confident, perhaps even a little arrogant and is often insulting. Until his “death” he was emotionless and struggled to understand concepts of friendship and heart but despite this he was capable of manipulating the emotions of others. Now though, he feels the remnants of a connection he made but cannot recall who it regards. In reality he is beginning, slowly to feel the effect of Inoue’s influence and emotions are starting to trickle into his emptiness, little by little. All he ever knew was nothingness and he ruled over that aspect of death and although little has changed in his personality yet things are beginning to differ, slowly but surely.
WEAPON:
Murcielago. As a sword it appears as an average length, yet thin katana with an S shaped guard. The binding on the grip is a shade of green, as is the sheathe. The release command is “Enclose”. (or maybe isolate I’m confused by scanlations)
ABILITIES:
He is strong and fast on an incredible level. He is capable of resureccion and resureccion segunda etapa both of which vastly increase his speed strength and power from his previous state. Both forms also alter his physical appearance. In the first stage he grows wings, his mask changes to cover the top of his head and long horn like protrusions appear and his hair grows in length. His clothes become a long white robe. In the second state he loses the clothing and is instead covered up to his waste and on his lower arms by black fur. His mask disappears leaving two long horns. He also grows a long whip like tail.
HISTORY:
Ulquiorra has little to no memories of human life. In fact his memories of much before Aizen are hazy at best. He remembers a dark place where things seem to have begun and he remembers that he was different from those around him. He could not eat, feel, smell or hear but simply see whereas those around him were always eating. They where black shapes and he was white and for all his differences he was shunned and ostracized. Whilst in that state he came to believe that things that his eyes could not perceive must not exist for it was his reality then and it was a concept he carried with him almost until the end. At last those around him forced him to leave and he retains memories of wandering the vast desert for what seemed to be an age all the while covered in the dried stains of blood. His next recollection is of the thorn bush and with its naked spines. A kindred spirit of nothingness, something he could relate to. He lay beneath it, cracking his mask as he maneuvered under it, becoming an arrancar.
When Aizen arrived in hueco mundo he eventually came across Ulquiorra and raised him to the rank of cuatro espada. As an espada he came to rule over an aspect of death, the aspect that defined him: Emptiness. His personality, his nature, resolved around that ideology and is perhaps reflected in his choice not to take fraccion. He was loyal to Aizen, fullfilling orders efficiently and effectively although he did occasionally show slight disobedience when curiosity took him. For example when he first entered the human world with Yammy they spoke of Ichigo as a target that was to be killed but deeming him garbage, they let him live. It would seem that Ulquiorra’s interest was piqued and that he wanted to allow him to develop further.
He diligently followed Aizen’s command to capture Orihime Inoue, doing so whilst she was travelling between Soul Society and Karakura Town. Her escorts posed little problem for him and by showing her that her obedience would determine the fate of her friends he began to lay out the emotional trap that would later keep her at bay. By allowing her to say goodbye to one friend he let her think she was doing the right thing when the true purpose of this freedom was to make her friends suspect her of treachery. He delivered her to Aizen without a hitch.
Orihime’s well being was left to Ulquiorra whilst Aizen needed her and he made it very clear that if she would not look after herself he would force food down her throat if necessary. Throughout her stay in Las Noches he brought her news of her friends’ progress and later questioned her about what the “human heart” is, curious to understand the emotions that were lost to him, to comprehend the actions of her friends. When she was stolen away by Grimmjow, he hunted him down and engaged him in combat, not seeming to care as much about him taking the prisoner but rather he was annoyed that Grimmjow was healing Ichigo, who he had defeated at full power without drawing his blade. Their brief conflict came to an end when Grimmjow trapped him in another dimension using a caja negacion. Where he remained trap for a couple of hours at most, returning in time to be left in charge of las Noches as Aizen departs to Fake Karakura town.
He remembers clearly the beginnings of the fight that followed with Ichigo Kurosaki. His initial misguided confidence that was quickly stripped away with his resureccion and his continued defiance, rising to meet a foe that would clearly defeat him. He remembers speaking of true despair and entering resureccion segunda etapa but after that his memories consist only of fleeting moments of combat and holding heart and the meaning of it in his hand as he turns to dust. Ichigo is there clearly but Uryuu and Orihime’s presence on the dome of Las Noches are no longer within his memories.
As he blew away in tiny fragments he had a vague sensation of awareness, as if he was on the edge of a dream and being awake until at last he did wake. He found himself lying in the midst of the desert of hueco mundo, various chunks of his memories gone. The one thing he remembered clearly was his understanding of heart and though it changed little he knew something more than emptiness now. Yet he could not say why. With this confusion he rose and began walking through the seemingly endless desert with the intention of returning to Las Noches.

He is not sure how or why his body reformed but has a suspicion that it is related to that last memory, that realization of what heart is. He formed a connection he had never before experienced and believes that it was perhaps that connection that prevented him from simply dying. It has instilled him with a new curiosity and thirst for answers.
